Finding Purpose and Community

Kate is a retiree and Ilham is an immigrant. They both discovered true fulfillment serving their community of Edmonds, WA.

Kate and Ilham of the Edmonds Waterfront Center, a community center in Edmonds, WA, talk about the services they provide and what it means to them.

Kate is retired and is a volunteer because “it is wonderful and appropriate to give back”.

Ilham is part of the staff as Events & Rental Director, and as an immigrant to the United States, helping there, amongst other aspects of the work, “gives me a sense of belonging”.

These kinds of stories of helping one another are all around us, every day! This is Our American Story.
